The short film, “Connect and Communicate”, a Believers Church Medical College Hospital (BCMCH) production in collaboration with National Resource Center for Non Communicable Diseases (NRC-NCD), won the First Prize and Cash Award for the short film festival on youth suicide prevention in NIMHANS . Jonathan Philip Joshua, who was casted as the son got a special jury award for his exemplary acting. He was congratulated by one and all and encouraged to do more inspiring acting. The film, submitted by MedMAC (Medicine, Media, Arts Collective) in BCMCH, was featured in the N-SPRITE launch event at NIMHANS.The esteemed Minister of Health and Welfare, Karnataka, Sri Dinesh Gundu Rao, graciously presented the award to our team, which included the certificate, trophies, and cash prize. The event was a prestigious occasion, attended by distinguished figures such as Dr. Pratima Murthy, Director of NIMHANS and other key leaders including Registrar of NIMHANS, and the Deputy Director (Mental Health) of the Government of Karnataka and other diverse groups consisting survivors, families, NGOs, media, art therapists, filmmakers, mental health professionals.
